The Pocket-Greenhaven Community Association was created to protect, promote and inform our wonderful community.
About Us
Did you know that the 95831 zip code is home to approximately 43,000 people?* Did you know that the Pocket-Greenhaven neighborhood makes up almost the entire zip code, with the exception of the small area east of Interstate 5? That is a lot of people!
With a neighborhood of our size, there is a lot of opportunity to help each other and strengthen our community if we work together.
In 2017, the Pocket Greenhaven Community Association (PGCA) was created, with the following mission statement: Protecting, Promoting, and Informing an Exceptional Neighborhood.
The PGCA is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit and is part of the City of Sacramento’s network of Neighborhood Associations.
Our goals are to:
- Connect and provide a voice to our residents to government staff, leadership, and services
- Provide information on key community issues
- Work to invest in, support and improve infrastructure and amenities
- Enrich the neighborhood by providing events and programs that help to build a sense of community
History
The Association was founded in 2015 as “Pocket-Greenhaven Community Forum” by Will Cannady and co-founders Pat Aguiar, Maggie Beddow, Louise Espinar, Jim Geary, Jim Houpt and Devin Lavelle. The original mission was to hold educational forums for the community.
In 2017, the organization was renamed “Pocket-Greenhaven Community Association” to reflect an expanded mission and be incorporated as a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit.
